PTTGC plans maintenance at HDPE unit

PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC) is in plans to shut a one of three High density polyethylene (HDPE) units for a maintenance turnaround, as per Apic-online.

A Polymerupdate source in Thailand informed that the company has scheduled to shut its one HDPE unit in late February 2016 along with the upstream craker. It is expected to remain under maintenance turnaround for a period of around 15-20 days.

Located at Map Ta Phut in Thailand, the HDPE plant consisting three units has a production capacity of 300,000 mt/year, 500,000 mt/year and 140,000 mt/year.

As MRC reported earlier, PTTGC is likely to shut a linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) plant for a maintenance turnaround in early March 2016. It is slated to remain under maintenance for a period of around 15 - 20 days. Located at Map Ta Phut in Thailand, the LLDPE plant has a production capacity of 400,000 mt/year.

PTT Global Chemical is a leading player in the petrochemical industry and owns several petrochemical facilities with a combined capacity of 8.45 million tonnes a year.
